After Midnight

Standard

After midnight again,
Maybe I should blog
A day ahead of time.

I have always been
A last minute blogger–
And a last minute writer,
Composing in the late hour,
Where solitude lets me be alone
With my thoughts
As I try to make sense
Of words on a page
Or a screen.

Now after midnight,
I slice away
Recollecting the day,
Feeling myself fade.

Maybe tomorrow I’ll say more,
For now I will go snore.
